In 1981, Metro Machine was honored by the Small Business Administration by being selected
"NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS PRIME
CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR".
This selection was made from small businesses of all types doing business with agencies of the United States Government.

In 1993, Metro Machine Corporation was selected as the winner of the
Environmental Protection Agency's
"1993 Excellence in Environmental Education Award."
This award recognizes Metro's commitment to adult environmental education including a full-time environmental compliance manager, an active environmental task force, an environmental suggestion program, an environmental compliance handbook for each employee and an environmental guide for each incoming Ship's crew.

In October 1993, Metro Machine Corporation was awarded the
"U.S. Navy AEGIS Excellence Award"
for demonstrating superior performance in quality, reliability, delivery and cost during the recent USS Ticonderoga (CG-47) overhaul. This program was established in 1971. In the years since, no repair yard has ever been recognized.
